The project ... I love home work

We've had a great time the past two weekends. We only get Willo for a short time each weekend, but our time with him is priceless. After four years of this bullshit arrangement where mum has Willo full time, gets to make pretty much all the decisions about his life, does his day to day things like helping with homework, attending all the school events, doing all the family life stuff - that we desperately want to do, but can't do because that's just the way it is under Australian law - we finally got to help with a school project!

Willo had to make an Australian icon. We decided on thongs. I found this stuff called polymer clay. It's hard plasticky clay coloured goo, but when warmed it is easily moulded into whatever shape you want. Once you've made the shape you bake it in the oven for 15 minutes, and it comes out hard as a rock. Of course, Willo and I made all sorts of rude things, and weird things, and used up $40 worth of the stuff,  cause we could.

So I present to you, THONGS ON A BEACH WITH STARFISH AND SHELLS by Willo.

Dad drove to the local river and collected the river sand, I helped with moulding and baking and sanding, also painting when Willo ran out of enthusiasm.

This is life!
(Ps. please note responsible parents providing Willo with safety goggles and dust mask).
