Here he is: Blob 2
Baby development at 6-7 weeks.
This is our scan of Blob 2 from Thursday. He's grown from 1.1mm to 4.4mm in three days. His heart rate is 113bpm and he measured 6 weeks 1 day (only two days behind, which is insignificant).
Now here's the but ... of course ... the gestational sac is small, measuring only 5 weeks and 1 day. It could catch up, or it could mean a problem. I've Dr Googled small gestational sac and come up with a couple of studies. One study says the difference between sac size and baby size should be 5mm and over. Another study says differences in sac and baby size of 5mm-7.9mm have a 26 per cent chance of miscarriage. Eek.
Our difference is 6.7mm, so we fit in to the increased miscarriage risk group.
I'm not going to worry about it, just pray like crazy. We just have to wait and see. No bleeding was detected during the scan and everything else looks normal. We even have adequate decidual reaction, when on Monday it was weak. Maybe we just have a little trouble-maker.
Next results are at eight weeks, 9 agonising days away!!!
