We're pregnant!

times two :))))

How can that be? We threw all our chips on the table and went with two surrogates. Our beta tests were done two days earlier than normal, so we are 12 days post egg collection, instead of the normal 14 days. Therefore the beta numbers are half what they would be, but 27 and 47, suggest single pregnancies for both. Our biggest fear, other than two negatives, was crazily high beta numbers and four or more babies.

So far so good, we have a very long way to go and the worry has begun. We have repeat betas on Monday and are hoping for a doubling or more.

Dr Shivani says she won't be happy until the babies are born. Me too. But we're in with a good chance.

Just a question if you don't mind me asking?....I am curious as to how many embryos were transferred into each surrogate? Did you transfer 2 into each surrogate?

TOTALLY FANTASTIC and about time! Curious how you got around using 2 surrogates as we want to but have been told it is not legal?

But who cares - so happy to hear this news - i too noticed your reference to the plural and just assumed you were pretty confident for twins!

Excellent news and congatulations!

definitely not illegal. Rotunda and Surrogacy India do it all the time. Just no-one fesses up to it.

There are no surrogacy laws in India, just the IMRC guidelines, that most clinics go with. New laws will make two surrogates illegal (and a bunch of other things) but they are not yet law.

Don't know who told you it was illegal ... they don't have the right info. Feel free to email me if you'd like to know the status of Indian surrogacy laws, and what is and isn't legal. There is a lot of crap out there, but few people who actually take the time to investigate the facts with the proper authorities.

Hey
I noticed that you turned back on the Anonymous posting so I like all the bogus anonymous postings praising Dr Shivani that followed. Nice tactical move. All posted within a matter of 10 minutes from people all over the world. Wow, what a confluence of approval for the doc at precisely teh same time! Amani you are such a fraud. Cut it out. If you continue to generate bad karma it will come back to bite you.

OMG Megan, so incredibly happy to read this!!!! You so deserve this.. I will keep everything crossed for you! xoxo

Dear anon, - JS - next time the full name goes in - we you know who you are and fortunately so does everyone else in blog land.

You have your boys, keep out of every one else's business and enjoy what you have. Stop with the bogus names on forums, stop with the warnings to blogs, stop flooding surveys, and spend your time caring for the great gifts God has bestowed up you.

Comment moderation happens when I get online and moderate comments - so they all appear at the same time. You wouldn't know that because no-one bothers to comment on your blog.

But thanks for your well wishes you nasty little troll. You'd just love to see my unborn children not make it. Karma back at you. You can't bear the fact that Dr Shivani is popular and doing a great job, and that people actually really like me, trust me and appreciate me. It must be eating you up.

Guess what: good things happen to good people, good things happens to bad people, bad things happen to good people, and bad things happen to bad people. So if our pregnancies don't continue, we'll try again, and your ill wishes will have no effect on our eventual success. You simply do not have that power.

: )))

Congratulations to both you and Bob.

Congratulations! It is not an easy ride with the pregnancy and getting them out of India (the paperwork!) -- any questions, just ask, I got to know a few people in the Australian Consulate that were very helpful -- but I look at my twin boys and they are WORTH IT! Sleep now - you won't for a long time after they come home! :)

Congratulations! Wonderful news for you guys - very efficient of you going with 2 surrogates, I hope it's a worry-free pregnancy for you.

For clarification - the anonymous Australian poster with the twins is not us. We always post publicly.

Amani said...

The anonymous poster is from USA, definitely not L and N from Australia, but the same gender twins. If anyone cares to they can figure it out themselves.
