Four month check-up
The Tobester is four-months old. He had his four-month immunisations on Thursday. He was brave, mummy wasn't. Poor Toby, two needles thrust simultaneously into his chubby little thighs. He cried for a minute or so then promptly fell asleep - only side effect - five hours sleep in a row! Mummy spent the afternoon checking every two minutes to make sure he was breathing. Of course he was.
Some stats - he weighs a whopping 6.75 kilos (up from 5 kilos at 2 months) and measures 63cm (up from 52 cm at 2 months). He is a tall boy. His head is 43cm - rather large - must be all those brains he's growing.
Our doctor said he is ready for something other than milk. It is early to start food, but he's still waking every 3 hours through the night and his tummy is hungry. Real food may help.
Today was the day - we introduced him to an organic carrot, apple and sweet potato mix. Rice cereal sounded too bland. As you will see, most came out of his mouth and onto his bib, and he scoffed his normal amount of milk after his "meal". It ended up being more for experience than to fill him up. Here are the results of the Inaugural Toby Feeding Event. Thanks to Aunty Shivani for his silver spoon and bowl : )
