Charliecat and I started the Indian Surrogacy Support Forum - We Proud Parents - around a year ago. I've just been updating the "birth and due dates" list and thought I'd share with non-forum peeps the number of babies born or due our forum members. This is not a complete list of pregnancies or births through SCI - it's around half - as I don't know all clients of course. I am amazed that when we started the forum we started with a small list of due dates. The first birth came in June 2010, with many more to follow.
Just look at these gorgeous little lives brought into the world. And this is just one forum, and one clinic. Which leads me to wonder exactly how many babies have been born through surrogacy in India. There are numerous clinics, some written about on blogs, some I have heard of, and some I am sure I am yet to hear about. I once asked the Australian High Commission if they kept statistics on the number of Australian babies born through surrogacy in India - they don't. I wonder if other countries' embassies keep stats.
So here I present to you a small fraction of the beautiful babies born through one clinic and one forum in one year.
Happy Forum-A-Versary to us all!
